And so we continue…

Ah… the next adventure, picking up on the publication of my first (2) stories- my very first book signing at Walden’s Books in the lower level of Ward Parkway in Kansas City.  Luckily I wouldn’t be alone- because frankly, I was scared to death!

What if no one showed!  (Trust me, this is the second greatest fear when it comes to writing, at least in my opinion- the first being everyone will laugh at what I created.)  What if Walden’s goes through all this for nothing, just me and the books cover artist setting at a table all alone trying not to look awkward…  Needless to say, this didn’t happen.  Thanks to people being amazing, and God’s blessings, in very little time a large line formed, mainly my co-workers and friends, but others as well, readers and lovers of books and stories.

In the end, it was a very blessed, and very busy hour and a half that ended much too quickly.

Ahhh, the memories of yesteryear…

This is for all who pick up a pen, or sit down in front of a keyboard and bleed their souls out, one word, one keystroke at a time, I salute you.  Our stories are our children, we nourish them, help them grow, help them form, but in the end, we release them into a world completely unknown.  Will they be loved, received, or turned away.  We do not know.  All we do know is this, by releasing our little darlings, we fulfill some indescribable urge to weave words together and present them.  It is an honor to share them with you- those who love and support us by your words, your reviews, your critiques, and last but not least, your hard-earned dollars.  For this we thank you- from the bottoms of our hearts.

Fact- whether or not I ever earn a cent from my writing, does not matter.  I never began this journey because of money, and I pray I never get trapped feeling like money is a measure of success, or a great review, (sure, I’m not going to complain if it happens! 🙂 I write because I need to, want to- and if, along the way, someone picks up my books and reads/listens/lives them, then we both become blessed.

Long Past Midnight

The Veil

Author: S.M.Muse

Bestselling author S.M Muse writes, fun, action-packed adventures full of everyday magic, and darker than Mid-night foes. His characters are clever, fearless, and resilient, but in real life, S.M. is afraid of spiders, things that go bump in the night, and roughing it in the great outdoors. Let’s face it. S.M. wouldn’t last ten minutes in one of his books. S.M Muse is best known for his Heir of Nostalgia fantasy series, and soon to be Urban Contemporary thriller, The Summer People.
